Face Reality Clearaderma — acne-safe moisturizer for clearing, calming, and healing breakout-prone skin
Size: 2 oz / 60ml
What it does for your skin
A lightweight, acne-safe moisturizer that does far more than hydrate. Clearaderma is formulated with niacinamide, totarol, prebiotics, and a botanical complex to actively calm inflammation, support barrier repair, and create an environment where skin can heal from breakouts — all while keeping pores clear. This is the moisturizer I build most acne bootcamp routines around.
Key benefits
- Niacinamide regulates oil, reduces redness, and fades post-acne marks
- Totarol provides natural antimicrobial action against acne-causing bacteria
- Prebiotic (fructooligosaccharides) supports a balanced skin microbiome
- Tapioca starch controls shine without clogging pores
- Witch hazel tones and refines without stripping
- 100% acne-safe — no pore-clogging ingredients
- Lightweight enough for oily and combination skin
Best for
Oily, combination, and acne-prone skin types at any stage of a clearing protocol. The moisturizer I recommend most frequently to clients in the Face Reality acne bootcamp because it hydrates, calms, and supports clearing simultaneously without interfering with treatment products.
How to use
Apply morning and evening after serum has fully absorbed. Use a small amount — a little goes a long way with this formula. Follow with SPF 50 in the morning. Safe to use alongside all Face Reality acne treatment products.
Jasmine's note
“I consider this a healing product more than just a moisturizer. When skin is inflamed and needs to recover — whether from acne, a reaction, or over-exfoliation — Clearaderma is what I reach for. It's in my starter kit recommendation for almost every new acne bootcamp client. The totarol is what makes it stand out — it's a natural antimicrobial from New Zealand totara wood that fights acne bacteria without the harshness of synthetic antimicrobials.”

Frequently asked questions
What is totarol and why is it in an acne moisturizer?
Totarol is a natural antimicrobial compound extracted from New Zealand totara wood. It's been shown to be effective against Cutibacterium acnes — the bacteria that contributes to breakouts — making it a genuinely functional acne-fighting ingredient in a moisturizer. It's one of the reasons this product does more than just hydrate. I love that it provides antimicrobial benefit without the harshness or potential for resistance that comes with synthetic antimicrobials.
Will this moisturizer clog my pores?
No — every ingredient in this formula has been vetted to be non-comedogenic. The base uses caprylic/capric triglyceride and safflower seed oil rather than heavier occlusive emollients, and the tapioca starch actually absorbs oil rather than adding it. This is one of the moisturizers I recommend specifically because I'm confident it won't interfere with an acne clearing protocol.
Can I use this if my skin is purging from a new acne treatment?
Yes — this is actually exactly when I recommend it most. When skin is purging or adjusting to a new treatment protocol it needs hydration and calming support. Clearaderma provides both without adding anything that would interfere with the treatment or trigger new breakouts. It's the stabilizing product in the routine while the actives do their work.
Is this moisturizer suitable for sensitive skin too?
Yes — the chamomile, bisabolol, allantoin, and licorice root in this formula make it genuinely soothing for sensitive skin. I've recommended it to clients who are both acne-prone and sensitive, which is a tricky combination, and it's consistently well-tolerated. The fragrance from the mandarin and orange peel oils is very mild — if you have extreme fragrance sensitivity, do a patch test first.
How do I choose between the Face Reality moisturizers?
Face Reality has four moisturizers and each one serves a distinct purpose — here is how to choose:
- Clearaderma — you are actively in an acne clearing protocol and need a moisturizer that supports clearing, controls oil, and keeps skin calm while your actives work. This is the one.
- Cran Peptide — your acne is clearing or cleared and you want to start working on aging, antioxidant protection, and firming. Or you are in your 30s-40s dealing with both acne and aging at the same time.
- Barrier Care Gel Cream — your skin barrier is compromised — stinging from products that never bothered you before, persistent redness, tight feeling after washing. Focus entirely on barrier repair before anything else.
- HydraRemedy Gel Serum — this is a serum, not a traditional moisturizer, but it works as your hydration layer before your moisturizer. Use it if your skin is dehydrated, reactive, or needs deep multi-layer hydration support.

I love this moisturizer and i have acne so i did not think I could use one, but Jasmine & I have been working on my acne and it feels so good to put this on. I was dry even with acne if that makes sense? She told me that it was because even though I have acne, my skin stills needs a moisturizer.
I used my daughter's moisturizer because I was out and I was pleasantly surprised by how hydrating this is and good it felt on my face. I ordered more for me and also added the Hydracalm mask. Quick service from this website.
